Phuket Nightlife: Phuket Discoteques / Discos
The biggest disco in Phuket
and at the moment rated as number one. The entre fee is 100 Baht
and one drink is included. All drinks cost 100 Baht. They have advanced
laser effects. Always crowded. In my opinion, the best time to go
there is between 00:00-02:30 am if you want to dance because after
02:30 when the bars begin to close there are too many people there
and its hard to have space on the dancefloor. They have lucky draws
on friday nights (keep the coupong when you have ordered drinks)
and on some dates there are special prices when you can win a motorbike
or a car. During high season can you watch gogo dancers on the second
floor. They close 05 am in the morning. (Note: Now in high season
they close 5:30 am or even 06:00 some days.)
The oldest disco in Patong
and also quite big. They have a big TV screen and now they also
have advanced laser affects. The entre fee is 100 Baht and one drink
is included in that fee.
A small and nice discoteque,
this is the old Chicago's Fun Pub (old, wellknown late nightspot)
but the new owners from France have made a facelift and everything
is new, and this place is hot with many people. This place opened
November 24, 2000. This place is worth a visit.
Very popular disco during
late night. People begin to arrive at 03 am and the party continues
to around 08 am in the morning, this is the place to go when other
bars and discos close. They also have a big screen TV and few small
ones, if they dont broadcast a TV channel you can watch the dancefloor
(captured by the camera). Or watch yourself if you are dancing :-)
Late spring 2000 they bought the neighbour bar Rendevouz and expanded
to double size.
Djungle disco, located on
the way to Karon beach. Nice environment and they also feature live
music and a big TV screen and a restaurant. In fact, this place
was the number one disco earlier and always crowded, but at the
moment in low season there is not that many people there but I guess
this will change in few weeks when high season begin.
A new place also located on
the way to Karon beach and nearby Simon Cabaret. A nice thai disco
and you feel you are inside a spaceship when you are there.
A thai disco with live music
capabilities. Its on Soi Crocodile in the same building as Andaman
Queen (at the end of soi crocodile). Many people here drink the
thai way, thus, order a bottle whisky and share it with friends.
(It's not always open and rumours say they are looking for a buyer.)
Another new disco located
at Royal Paradise hotel. In fact, at the moment they advertise a
lot but there is no people there but I think it will change in high
season because it is a nice place.
Old Titanic. Some man from
Italy bought this place and it's new name is Pasha. I don't know
if this place is finished and up and running yet since I haven't
heard anything about this place. I will give it a visit in the near
future and find out more.
Another old and big disco
in Patong (thai disco?) with live music but the few times I give
it a visit it was not that many people around and the live band
played hard rock, not my kind of music.
Note: Titanic doesn't exist anymore. This place have a new
owner and the new name will be Pasha - club & discoteque.
Karon beach one and only disco.
It is quite new and it has a wood environment and they also play
live music sometimes during evening. I guess that many of the girls
working in Karon beach now go to Kontai instead of Safari when the
bars close. AND, I was surprised, they give you massage on mens
toilet. First time for me, but I have been told that it is common
on many places in Bangkok.
Alternative music, they play psychedelic
trance and techno music, known from the underground scene in europe
(and from Sweden's rave parties).
