I agree with you. Yankees fans are not all fans, some are just riding the coattails of a team that is winning championships. They just want to back a winner, just like LA Laker fans here a few years ago.

I have watched them for a long time, even when they were bad so I am not a fairweather fan but some of the people are ridiculous. I am not the kind of person who wears all the team colors, nor do I hide when the team is doing poorly. The in your face because the Yankees are champions kind of people drive me crazy. We had the same thing here in LA when eveyone started buying Lakers flags for their cars when Kobe and Shaq were winning championships but the year that they were in the playoffs but did not look like they were going to win it all the flags disappeared.

If you are a true fan you live and die by your team. When the Yankees lost to Arizona and then to your Sox last year I was frustrated but I still love them. I just don't get as upset as I used to.

Boston fans put up with a lot of hardship to watch their teams and are very rabid fans and have been forever. I went to Phillips Academy at Andover and had to be quiet about my Yankees as I played baseball with so many kids from South Boston. Of course they were not doing well anyway at the time.

Of course now that the Yankees are getting closer to the Sox all the fairweather idiots will be coming out of the woodwork. Pretty sad.
