I would suggest that you bring your whole family to Genting Highlands (about 2 hrs from KL)...cool place (temperature) with nice hotels, casino, a huge entertainment place ala Disneyland (where your children can enjoy the rides etc) or you can leave your wife behind in KL for shopping
...at Times Square, Lot 10, Megamall etc...alot of goods are taxfree..including electronics, perfume, watches etc...and you with your children in Genting. The food in KL is going to put you in heaven...try the local at hawkers complexes..plenty around..
