The ones that look like roaches are a kind of water beetle...
The worst thing I ever had to eat was pig intestines.. Chewey rubbery horrible tasting stuff and you could still taste (and texture) of the contents of the intestine.. Nearly made me gag but was up with wifeys family and had to smile and get through it..
What baffles me is they just killed the pig and there is loads of good real meat but its the rough bits they enjoy.. Same with wifeys sister.. Big fish on the table and she wants to eat its eyes and crunch the skull for the briain.. The actual flesh of the fish she is not bothered about !!!!
