Did you actually read Steve T's original thread about how he just had his wife leave him and he had to sell his business? He went for a vacation and to learn how to scuba dive and ended up finding Patong. He did not fall in love with a BG, he fell in love with all the Bg's and the nightlife. He needed a change and it has given him a reason to enjoy life. He has not sent anyone any money, just been there once and going back again. He will have more time to enjoy the culture on his next trip. You moved there, you have all the time in the world to enjoy all that Thailand offers. He went there to scuba dive and relax.
