You can buy an LG Plasma TV that looks just like that one in Phuket for 75k baht new, One of my customers bought one and was not impressed, however he's yet to put it through a UPS so maybe thats a solution.
I tried out one of the new BenQ LCD's the other day and was very impressed, more expensive than plasmas at 69,990 for a 32" but its Hi-Def and has a DVI port.
Havent seen any Plasma's with HDMI here yet, but must admit to not looking around at them for 6 months or so.
