I am going to try that then LIL, the Gurkhas have brought some pretty mean chillies with them! I am taking cod liver oil here and feel it eases the old knees for me, my legs did take a bit of a hammering in the Mob over 25 years and the pounds I am pilling on now post doing regular 10 mile runs in full kit certainly isn't helping!! I also take a over the shelf multi-vitamin as I don't think I get what I need from the food we are able to get here right now, that may improve in time!

My daughter was born in Berlin! Where abouts were you working LIL, great city and had 5 happy years there.

As for long drives, whilst on the US Embassy security gig in Botswana I regularly had to drive 550Km to a remote 12 man detachment to carry out resupply, deliver salaries and conduct training. There were two left turns on that road and obviously two right ones on the 550Km back again!! I used to stock up on those drinks such as Red Bull and theres another one I can't think of right now in a green can. They worked for me for about 30 minutes or so but I soon found myself starting to nod off at the wheel. Resorted to Valium in the end!! Not good IMHO but probably saved my life a few times in near collisions with Fcuking donkeys!!!

Good post LIL, thanks.
