a few questions regarding a 3 month tourist visa to australia for my thai gf.

1/ if visa is granted do we have to wait untill she returns to thailand to apply for fiancee visa and if so how long may it take for approval of fiancee visa.
i have heard it can take up to 2 years,would this be unusual.

2/what would be an exeptable length of time with the embasy to of know your gf before application for tourist visa is made.ive been in constant contact threw phone,e/mail for 2 months and will be going over to see her in feb.

3/should i wait untill i get over there in feb to apply for tourist visa or should i do it before hand.

4/if an application is not granted how long would you have to wait before you could apply again.
