Long term insurance ? Are you planning on staying "long term" or are you looking to do 3-4 trips in one year . Many companies offer multi-trip policies.
They have no interest in insurance documents at the airport , it is your choice if you have insurance or not, but it can be very costly if you have to pay for hospital treatment etc.
