Have never flown with Air Asia but can give you some advice about the points you raise.

1. No idea but any delay on one flight will probably have a "knock-on" effect for all the later flights.

2. If your flight is cancelled , they will "try" to get you onto the next available flight but this will possibly already be fully booked. They would probably put you at the top of the "waiting list" and get you on the next flight with any seats empty.

3. Sorry , but you won't be able to check luggage through to Phuket. You will have to clear passport control and customs in Bangkok, then go to Domestic Terminal and check-in.

Flights from Bangkok to Phuket are filling up very fast , I am traveling on 23rd December and Thai flights are fully booked until 18.20 , and even then I have had to book Business class to get a seat. I think that if people have not already got confirmed booking , they will find it very difficult to get a flight at any time between 22nd December and New Year.
