I stayed in the penthouse in Baan Suan in September for a couple of weeks. Pretty nice and an awesome view as it's on Hasip Pee Rd overlooking the whole of Patong (pic attached). Overall not too happy with the interior and the shower would pack up regularly, and it was a royal pain in the ar$e if you needed something from 7/11 as you had to go all the way down the hill and back up again!!
We then found a house in Nanai Rd, in a very quiet soi we didn't even know existed. Next to the Mango Tree at the north end of Nanai. I think the Ikon hotel is opposite the entrance. Anyway, a bit pricey, but works out to only be only 1000Bt a night for a 2 bed/3 bath house, split level living/dining room, ADSL/Cable, washing machine, leather sofas. Very central and
very quiet considering it's location.
