Thanks for all the warm welcomes and advice.

I've been doing a lot more reading over the last week and I've decided that Patong will be where I spend most of my time.

I'm still having trouble arranging my flights (what a pain in the **** - no wonder I have so many fukcing miles, I can never use them!). As of now I've been able to reserve Los Angeles to Singapore and then a 9 hour lay-over before my flight to Bangkok - they don't fly to Phuket. For my return I have Singapore to Los Angeles, but I'm still working on Bangkok to Singapore.

Funny, Singapore Airlines can get me from Los Angeles to Singapore in first class without a problem, but once I'm in Singapore I'm stuck. Malaysia Airlines on the other hand has no problem getting me from Kuala Lumpur to Phuket, but I can't get on a flight from Los Angeles to Kuala Lumpur!

If I keep what I have so far, I'll be arriving in Bangkok on March 14th and will need to leave the night of March 24th for a night in Singapore before an early morning flight. I'm trying to decide if I should keep trying to make this work or if I should just change everything to after my friends wedding and come in late April instead. Can anyone tell me how much different the weather will be in late April compared to March? I have looked at the weather information and it seems to be getting a little wetter and warmer, but how bad will it be?

This forum has got me so excited to get there (pun intended), I just wish it was sooner.
