Thanks again for all the comments and info. I’ve leaned that the temple retreat is a lot more common than I thought.
I’m really not a heart torn lover tying to deal with jealous fits from across the world. I think I’ve got a pretty good grip on the TG scene. Well, maybe a slight grip, anyway. My issue was more that I had never heard of temple retreats and didn’t appreciate a concocted story when it wasn’t necessary. If she doesn’t answer the phone, fine. Sometimes I don’t either. If it takes her 8 hours to return SMS, fine. This happens all the time. I guess we always had a “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.
I realize now that there may be some meat to her story, but I’m still a little cynical. It will be interesting to see if she sneaks a phone call now since the last message I got would indicate that she left her mobile with her friend. But I’ll just grin and bear it.
