It takes about 3 hours to drive to Suratthani. It's an easy drive and the road is quite good. I use to live there and travelled the road down to Phuket quite a lot. Never really liked the place, it was always dull after living the high life in Phuket. There's about 2 half decent bars there and the band plays the same music every night. A lot of nice "good" girls there though.
