Yeah, on 2nd thoughts, I think it is a good idea too..I will book the flight only from here Kuala Lumpur to Phuket and will search for hotels by myself. But, did you all guys know where is the best place to stay? With such short notice accomodation will be hard to find and more expensive over the christmas period, why only two nights? is it because of time off work?, i reckon I'd wait til feb and have a decent holiday, unless your looking just for a tester. If you tell us more what you like doing on holiday, who you are travelling with etc you will get more accurate answers.
