Once, I joined a dinner with participants from both Thai and farang origin. The women did a great job cooking, the men did a great job drinking and discussing the usual – women cars football money –, a separation of duties that LOS is famous and loved for.
Anyway, we all had our share of the different plates with superb food, another thing the country is loved for. Then, one of the women asked a farang guest if he was enjoying the food.
`Oh yes, it is delicious´ he replied.
That made her mad, she jumped up and started yelling at the guy. She was real pissed off.
It took us a while before we understood the misunderstanding: she thought he said something like ´deli-shit´, and although she had no idea what delishit is, the sh#t part she understood.
