Each Saturday run has 2 'official' level of run - the super fit/serious runners do a longer run that last around an hour. For the less fit (fat b*****ds) there is a walk course that also lasts about the same time - the idea is that the runners and the walkers arrive back to the beer truck at about the same time.
However for the seriously unfit/social Hasher/piss lovers - Gollum often will do a 'unofficial mini-walk' (often a huge short cut) so that dont get too far away from the beer truck. Then of course the the Dogblower serious duty of guarding the beer truck.
For the serious runners thats the challenge - getting lost is part of the fun - but that would cut down on beer consuption time.
