Good tips, I forgot proof of income. Also, I'm not sure you are entirely correct about the interview, because when my pal did it they did speak to him, so its possible.
When I did it, I just sat in the waiting room. I have said before though that being there is important, and if there is a mistake in your paperwork you being around to answer questions could be the difference between yes and no.
