Have gone into information overload looking at accomodation around the Patong and Kata location when we intend visting late June early July.

What I would like to know is there plenty of accomodation in Phuket given the wet season. Is it possible to get really good rates if you walk into a resort and barter? We are thinking of booking for a couple of nights initially then have a look around when we get there. We will be staying 12 days and don't want to book a place only to find out it is not a nice place.

Any thoughts?

There are plenty of hotels that have accomodation availaible when you look on the net, which is why I am thinking some really good deals could be done if you do a walk up. Be interested in anyones thoughts.
