I just find a bit of alcohol gets me off to sleep at the right time, ie trying to switch to destination time as soon as I get on board. My usual China Airlines(very good) lands at BKK 7am and in accommodation in BKK(usually have a day or two there) by 8.30am so can have a couple of hours sleep there as well. No jet lag problems.
My next trip will probably be using up my Nectar/air miles points and Emirates or Etihad look the best bet for that. Even for free I would hesitate to use KLM again.
