There are a million 'what ifs' and if you don't ask yourself a few before getting into a situation you could have a great deal of trouble getting out of it.
Life is worth less in some places, and don't forget that that means your life too.

...and what if a little green man came up to you and said "another point of Guinness sir ?" Would you worry that he was real, or that he was trying to lull you into thinking he is a friend whereas in fact he wants to kidnap you !!
There's always "what if..." to every situation and I don't think it's really fair to say that you shouldn't help out vitcims of a traffic accident in case they say you caused it. Are people really saying here that if a guy is staggering across the road covered in blood, that they would actually drive round him and speed off in to the distance ??
Stopping a fight when it's nothing to do with you is one thing, but not stopping to help out a road crash victim is something entirely different.
