I think it highlights a lot about the difference in values and outlook on life.
The more time you spend in LOS the more aware you become and you do become a lot more aware of how little value there is on life and how some Thai's would rather commit murder and go to prison for life (over something we would not even consider important) rather than lose face and back down.
Thailand is like an exotic animal that looks very attractive and mysterious but try and own or tame it (and give it care and help when you think it needs it) and it might just bite or sting you- and that bite could be fatal- it is one wild beast that can take care of its self.

Sorry , but this is something what i would never accept. If there is an accident or somebody in big trouble i will help. No matter if the person is thai or farrang. In the first place its a human being. i think this is getting too much into perversion to say this is the thai way to do it!!! And also i want to remind you of the thread where a thai Bar owner was helping a farang in trouble and he got badly hurt too. I couldnt live with the doubt that somebody died because i was running away. Call me stupid, call me a fool or tell me i dont understand or have not adopted the thai way of live. But then i have to tell you this is imho bullshit and you should think about how much you want to become a pseudo thai!!! Humanity has no nationality. If after helping i get trouble than i will see it in the thai way , mai pen rai! but i can still look in the mirror at the next morning, looking my face and doing a shave...
