That's my whole point in a nutshell. If Dallaglio is in the squad he leads it, whether he is captain or not, even to the point of bagging on the whole setup in the papers. He may have made a mistake by quitting international rugby but it was his choice, and his presence in the squad is a good example of Robinson's indecisiveness.
To my mind, Dallaglio should either be captain or not there at all. If he is good enough to play at 8 then give him the big job. The way it looks to me though, is since he came back England have struggled.
The other point, Tait, is the first worrisome sign we were given by Robinson. Last 6 nations the press got on his back about the centre pairing and held up poor old M Tait as the finest running centre in England. So Robinson, bizzarrely to my mind, picks the kid to play his first full international against Wales in cardiff? I think he was 17 at the time and he promptly got smashed by Gavin Henson, possibly the best 12\13 in the world at the time. He has not been in a squad since.
Call Clive Woodward what you like, but he is one of the most astute man-managers I have ever seen. I'm sure Andy Robinson is a good coach, CW would not have had him there otherwise, but Dallaglio and Tait prove to me that the guy is not the manager that he needs to be.
