As mentioned above, you might be able to live on 30k a month (be careful if your contract does contain income tax, visa runs, etc, else you can substract a few thou a month for that).

But after living here a number of years, it comes more and more to my naive mind: if not putting at least the same amount in the bank, what will you live on after you are tired of actually working?? What if you would want to buy a house, a car, or -- finegrs crossed -- get seriously sick??

So, if you are not planning to stay here for only a very limited amount of time and have not burned all bridges back home, that is a very important thing to budget for as well.

The advice I give all my freidns is, get a source of income from abroad (like renting out a property), else you will be in for a very though time in paradise.
