My buddy just got back from BKK and we talked about his overland route. It Took him about 9-10 hours to get to Siem Reap. To get there, he takes a bus to Aranyaprathet bus station, a tuk-tuk to the border crossing to Poipet in Cambodia. You need to get a visa to cross into Cambodia. Visa is $20. Watch out for the expedited visa scam. It cost my buddy 500 baht because they were intentionally taking their time. After crossing, he took a shared-taxi from the town to Siem Reap. Lots of scammers in the border town so watch out.

Costs
Bus to Aranyaprathet - 200 baht
Tuk-tuk to Poipet border crossing - 70-10 baht
Visa cross Cambodia - $20 Usd
Taxi to Siem Reap - 1800 baht. Find someone else to share this taxi with you

He took his route from the Tales of Asia website. Here is the link:

I am planning on doing this same trip in November.
