I completely agree with what you say.

I think the bottom line though, is the difference between making friends with a nice person, and having a 'relationship in your mind', with a prostitute from the other side of the world.

I have met some really nice, warm, friendly people on my tours of thailand (both ladies and ladyboys).

All of us that have been lukcy enough to go to Thailand know that not all of these girls are hard nosed buggers.

If I was faced with the choice of giving money to a charity where I never see what happens to the money, or giving a bit of extra money to a person who has really made me feel special, then the vote goes to Thailand every time.

We must just be careful we dont get sucked into a situation which gets too much out of hand (i.e. sending a few hundred pounds a month).
