Anyway just back from Khon Kaen area after going to smoke the peace pipe with my GF, who had to return to her sick papa (genuine) and leave me in Patong to take care of our business. My strategy for this of course was a major PR exercise for 2 weeks.

Got a major surprise on my visit to Khon Kaen city, the nightlife I found to be quite excellent with a multitude of FL's on show and little or no farangs, with prices at non commercial level, lots of bars and discos really good. Also attended 2 parties at GF's local village to celebrate coming of rain and another for some Thai guys making monk. They were truly memorable dancing in front of a mobile disco to thai music with about 2,000 people, getting pissed up, soaked and covered in cow shit and mud, never had such a good time as this.

Anyone else experienced anything like this?

ps 2 you guys who know me, think ive just about managed to win GF over after many untrue and undeserved rumours (i think) about my acitivities in Patong.

pps anyone who goes to mai thai bar please please do not drink black death - i need say no more nicke!!!
