Thanks

Thanks for all the replies guys, I thought I would just jump on and give you an update. I was unable to find any Clinics, despite asking multiple people and at my Hotel's front desk, so I ended up at the Kathu (sp?)/ Patong hospital. Of course on the short trip there I passed no fewer then 3 doctor's clinics within 100m of eachother on the street behind my hotel (club andaman).

After filling out my information and getting a checkup I was extremely pleased to find out that because my infection is in the middle-outer of the ear canal I'm clear to fly. The doctor said it would be best to avoid it if possible, but only due to the pain it will cause on the flight, and that if I decided to fly no long term or further damage would occur. This was a big relief for me. I'd much rather deal with a bit of pain then get stuck behind feeling sorry for myself as the other 3 of my group get to experience KL.

All in all I was pleased with the level of service from the hospital. The ladies and nurses at the front counter had adequate english and the doctor that did the checkup, while moving things along quite fast and not sharing the seemingly caring personality of those back home (understandable), spoke excellent english and came across as someone who definately knew their stuff and instilled a much needed level of confidence in me.

I paid 500 baht for the anti-biotics/checkup and my current painkillers were adequate.

Regards,

Aus
