Wake boarding was a brilliant laugh and has now set me a target to acheive.

I took tirak and her friend Tukki, our neighbours Jan and Da and of course Duncs. We met up with Nicke, Ead, Mumma Ead and Natalie. For some uknown reason Duncs, Jan and Da didn't want to do it, could have been watching my first few attempts. Tukki kicked off with the kneeling board and went around the lake a couple of times. Me and two other british guys started with wake boards, 45 attempts later none of us could get up on our feet nor travel for further than about 50 feet. Nicke went off on skis and did two laps of the lake before he was knackered, so I had a go with the water skis and it was very much easier, with the slight exception of the corners, boy is it hard to get round the corners, you have to go out real wide and hang on hard as the cable propels you out to warp factor 20. Nicke then went on the wake board and got up first time, only he was skiing with his board side on rather then poinyy end forward and therefore couldn't steer too well, we all watched in horror as he went directly towards the ramp, would he jump off the ski, would he get some sort of steering going on, nope he just collided with the ramp side on and went ar$e over tit, why oh why was no one videoing the moment, it has to be one of the funniest moments yet. Nicke suffered nothing bad little bruised arm and dented pride but it didn't stop him trying again and again.

In two hours of trying I never did manage to master the wake board so next week I will be back again and again until I get that first lap completed. The wake boarding is great value 500bht for 1 hour and 150bht for every hour more you want, they have drinks and food there and plenty of seats in the shade for voyeurs. Next time we go we will take the video camera for those who wish to watch us make our maiden voyage. Heh Diz is over here this week maybe we can get him out there !!!
