222 Silom Road
BANGKOK THAILAND 10500
We’d like to do the canals (klongs?), and the floating market has also been recommended.
I’ve tried maps ( google earth and maps ) but it didn’t show me where I am.
Given the short amount of time and not knowing the location any suggestions?
Previous suggestions when I've asked about the hotel told me I'm too close to Patpong and I will go broke. I searched this and taking bangkok bob's advice I will steer clear.
thanks

I know 222 Silom Rd quite well....there is a very nice open air restaurant on the ground floor.....you are about a brisk 10 minute from Patpong, so your not exactly right on top of it....Why stay clear of Patpong, it's lively it's fun, quite a nice area to stay in actually.....Bangkok Bob must be a wet blanket.....fair enough if you live there you become sick of the place, but if your a tourist l can see any problem visiting it.....DO NOT go to any upstairs establishments though...he is right about that.

If you do go to the floating market.....make sure you go real early.
