My guess is that you are living a bit of a dream (nothing wrong with that). You like the idea of having close contact with an exotic girl from the other side of the world. The cost of phone calls must be horrendous. If YOU aren't paying for all of them, then where does SHE get the money for international phone calls?
Anyway, I guess all I am trying to say is try and work out what YOU want, then do it. Its your life.
As for the excuses or lies, then be very careful. You are already aware of the Thai jungle drums, but maybe you havent thought about a couple of other things. Firstly, your airline ticket will have dates on it and if she has a look through your things she WILL spot it, but secondly, your PASSPORT gets stamped with your arrival date !!!!! Explain that one to her !!! If she gets her hands on your passport, you are fcuked.
Good luck with whatever you choose, but just make sure you have a great time on holiday. You have waited a long time for it and it would be a shame to waste time arguing and fighting when there are so many girls out there you can have a great time with.

and Marc remember the telephone connection tone from America and when you mobile is roaming in Thailand is different, if she calls you and you leave phone on, dont pretend you're still in US because she will know you're not.

ps Are you sponsoring her? i.e. paying at least 30,000 baht per month, because if not she's working or someone else is paying as well. Dont mean to be rude or short but you did seem pretty sure she's not up to anything or working the bar. Only way I would be sure is if you are staying with her full time and this is from me; a guy who is in way too deep.................business, house bla bla bla everything together and Im still a suspicious bstard.....
