well i went in totally blindfolded,didnt have a clue what to expect.
heard a few things of mates etc,but your picture is so different when u dont know.
well we arrived pretty late on i think,checked into grand diamond,very nice,location not great for the bars ,but what did i know,just was recomended the place.
roll out the hotel go for a stroll (was with bob)walked for a while,see a tuk tuk, gotta be done,bob looks unsure,anyway jump in.
we ask tell him we wanna go for a drink,bit of dutch courage shall i say,well thats what i ment.all we get from the thai driver is 'seafood,u like seafood',nah drink.we go around in circles,bob by this time is just saying feck this,im laughing but bob aint finding it amusing,so we end up just telling him to pull over,give him some baht,cant remember how much.on we walk.
so we see a taxi,right lets try him.
we wanna go drink,ok,ok he replies,so we get in..........then driver just keeps lookin in the rear view,squashing his hands together saying'100% sure,boom boom lady'we were like ok but we wanna drink.
so he takes us down these shady alleys,then underground,what the feck is going on,a bit para.
he tells us to get out and points to this door,ok,so we walk over push the door and there is about 10 thai guys watching tv,and this sort of counter at the back of the room,'go on' he says, 'look look'points to another door,we open the door and what i could make out it was a ping pong show type thing,not what we had in order.should of had a gander really,but i wanted to have a beer and take it as it comes,maybe i was in the right place

so we procced with the driver,i know i take u drink have lady,he pulled up on what i know now as the outskirts of patpong,took us to a gogo bar,it had no one in just about 20 girls,which were not up to much,we drank our drinks and done one,taxi matey still outside,payed him his money and decided to go for a walk.
didnt know at the time but we ended up in patpong,checked a few bars,and by this time we were like feck it lets have a look in one of these more attractive gogos.
well one drink later we were both back outside with a lady on the arm,i thought we were going back for the night but as soon as i done the deed she wanted paying and wanted to go,stiched up,i suppose that s were not knowing the k-now how.didnt agree terms so to speak and she was the 1st lady to come to me(no fecking about),but u live and learn.
so was a big shock comin to bangkok,felt a bit weiry about the whole place at 1st.not the greatest of experiences but all part of the learning process.
but straight down to patong put a whole different perspective on things,had a great time,
now i love the place,gets better everytime for me,finding more and more spots everytime,nothing but fun,hope it goes this way for time to come.
didnt read this forum until after my second trip,how things could of been different with a little bit of knowledge.but no regrets though.
