Nicke's advice is the best advice I've ever heard or given in Thailand.
Under no circumstances EVER get involved in a fight with the locals....you will not win and the only question is the manner of your defeat.
I've kept to this over many years despite on occassions severe provocation...yeah I'm chicken....but the tough guys I don't ever seen to see again.
