Thai Culture in Los Angeles

Although I've been meaning to do it for a while, I finally got up to the thai wat north of LA. I felt like i was back in LOS, with all the monks, music, and great thai food being cooked up in little stalls. Oh, suay mauk girls as well.

I started a class at the wat to read, write, and speak thai so it looks like i'll be going up there weekly. Though i can speak nid noy, i've never had to fathom the script before and at this point it makes my brain hurt!

I'd be interested in hearing some of the experiences of bm's that sucessfully read and write thai. I've got a feeling that this could be a long journey.
