If you really think about it, what else is required ??
The main problem is people putting so called "valuables" into their suitcase and then fearing that they will go missing. Everybody immediately thinks that the baggage handlers will then rifle through their belongings and take their "valuables". Ask yourself this, how many actual (as in real not just stories you've heard) instances do you know of where someone has had something taken from their luggage ?? I am referring to first hand accounts, not "I know a mate of a friend of my auntie Jean etc etc)
It used to make me laugh seeing what people brought on to a plane when they were flying for just 1 or 2 hours, small "wheelie" case, briefcase, laptop, suit-carrier and if female, the dreaded handbag capped it all off, although I have seen quite a few "manbags" in my time !! It's funny because they insist that everything is necessary onboard and then want to be able to put it all in the locker immediately above their head !! Obviously with many people doing this there is no room left and then they start giving a big stroppy !!
I say eleminate all but essential hand luggage and it will result in boarding times being much quicker, as well as a much quicker exit at the destination.

It certainly will release the pain to get out of the plane quicker, nothing worse then a long wait after a long flight. For bizz flights though, I'll need my laptop and a suite or two, it happend before that my luggage still is somewhere in London and I had to buy a new one, otherwise I turn up in blue jeans in front of customers
