if all you want is somwhere to crash between sessions and you want to be close to walking street then i from expiriance would not recommend booking a hotel like the penthouse etc just get a room in soi bukow somwhere, there are loads of cheap hotels and alot of the bars have rooms for rent for about 400 baht a night most have air-con, big bed, fridge and are clean. you'll find it hard to get a better room for the price and besides if it's only for sleeping then it don't really matter.
