Never had problems with staff in Rio or Rock Hard, with the exception of one time in Rio the girl was impolite. Told it to the manager and problem solved.
I agree with sishow. Staff in Thailand is not to be compared to Western World, but they don't get the same wages, be it in a restaurant or hotel (even sometimes at the hotel reception). But then there is enough staff to compensate for their "slowness"...and they are more polite and friendlier (showing a big smile) than in our countries.
