While I love go-go bars, there's nothing in Patong that really works for me so I just don't bother. IMHO Dragon is a barn and I don't like the music, but there are some lovely ladies in some good outfits. Rock Hard has better music (showing my age I guess) and some nice ladies but I don't rate their oufits. If I do wander in, its usually with friends and I generally end up sitting and talking (and drinking) with Larry or Jeff and rarely even look at the stage.

I like both of the guys and have known them both for years. I believe they really do want to have the best place in town but I guess Patong is never going to go back to the "good old days" - witness the closing of Flash. On that basis, I believe we're really talking about apples and oranges. Its just a nice place to sit around, play pool and ogle the ladies if that's what you want.

Larry would be the first to admit that he is computer (or web) illiterate, and I know for a fact that Jeff is (because I once sat down with him and poked around in their website showing him how reciprocal links worked and tried to explain why text links are better than graphics). They have a website which is entertaining, and I include the feedback/comments page in that, and that's all they want.

Neither of them really know or worry very much about what is said elsewhere on the net. After all, opinions are like a piece of string - every yo yo has one. Put a name or a face to your opinion and tell them; they are not adverse to feedback from customers.

Disclaimer: DB has nothing to do with Rock Hard. I have been drinking in that building since it was known as Raging Bull, through Dooleys, Peppermint, Rock Hard etc, but still would not claim to be a regular.

One last thing: I know Big Bill well and he always used to make a big deal of greeting me if he was on the mike when I wandered in. A great entertainer, but not ever a manager!
