First of all, welcome to the board, I would suggest stay new year in Patong/Phuket. You won't regret it. Patong is a wonderfull place . After New-year you can go to Ko Samui. And I would suggest don't go to Pattaya, Phuket is a much better place to go for meeting people and partying.
