As one of my buddies has adopted Thai kids I have got to hear some Thai school horror stories.

Teacher at school which is insisting kids use computers, Kids are assigned homework and told the HAVE to go do it at an internet cafe that he will supervise them at.. Of course it turns out its his internet cafe.. Charges the kids 25 baht per printed page (well above average) and has a tendancy to not help them to print only the right parts.. Lots of 10 and 15 page printing mistakes. Children that dont go to his shop are given a massively hard time, thier homework failed and told to redo it over and over. Costs can be 300 baht per day per child !!!

Another one was that the Thai schools are so over subscribed in kids that they are refusing children to the school.. cost (to a Thai) was 60k baht tea money to get her son admitted back at the school he had been studying at so far or 25k to change to a cheaper / worse school.. Unhappy kid as new school, new school mates, etc. These are not private schools just the slightly better than average Thai ones I understand.
