Hope this is the right forum for this.
I've been a member here for quite some time since my first visit to Phuket in sep 2001 on my honeymoon, but just haven't posted much. Read a lot but not posted. I got hooked on the place and wanted to know more about it after I left.
5 years on and I'm still hooked. Been back 3 times since with wifey - yes, she's farang but she's great
- and we've loved every time we've been.
I just wanted to say thanks to all the regulars here who have helped me learn a whole lot more about the culture in Thailand, helped answer questions regarding "what to do in this situation" etc. It really made for a better experience each time we went knowing how to react to certain situations, eg keeping cool and smiling so nobody lost face etc. The thai are truly amazing people.
Anyway, in the world today there aren't so many positives thrown out so I thought I'd let you forum regulars know from someone who was such a noob ..... thank you for all the info and assistance you provide to the newbies.
btw, it helps pass the day reading some of the entertainment you provide.
