The drugs used are
very similar to the ones we use (legally !!) in the hospitals. They do not actually "knock you out" , just make you more compliant , they also have an amnesic effect , in that you can still "be there" but as soon as you go to sleep your "memory" disappears.
So , you may "drift off" for a little while , then wake up wander home and go to bed , your "memory" will stop from when you first are affected.
