It's the loyalty by certain members in the Military and Police for Thaksin I was trying to express my opinion about and thier possible influence in trying to stop the coup. I am aware of Thais undying loyalty to the King but he isn't the one trying to be ousted and his Government removed.

I just hope Thaksin retires to his luxury apartment in NY with his cronies after his soon to be given speech. That he mulls over what has happened at home, realises he is 'persona non grata' in his own country and realises that "Hey! I am a very wealthy man" and retires gracefully and invests his money in Thailand. That there are new elections for the people and that whoever wins the popular vote does what is good and beneficial for the country as a whole. Not raping it for the good and benefit of themselves and thier hangers on.

you hit the nail on the head.the coup was planned to take place while pm thakisn was away his a$$ will be removed very soon ,though I don't thing he will be given the chance to retires gracefully in thailand and invest his money that easy,as you said he's a <persona non grata> and so hated by the majority of thais,on the contrary I believe he will be given a very bad time.
