I have a friend who is a professional guitar player(flamenco style), and has his nails done with acrylic on his picking hand. I don't play flamenco, but I don't use a guitar pick, either. Picking with my nails tends to break them, and strumming files then down too fast.
I haven't got up my nerve to get the acrylics yet, but was curious what they cost. I sure don't want to pay $50.  |
Have you considered fingerpicks ? I know they are a bit difficult to master, but guess once you do, have a great effect.
