I find too many recent comedies seem forced to have sugar sweet themes added onto them..

Of course it depends what you find funny.. Its lowbrow (but hey so am I) but I bet I will laugh non stop for the jackass movie..

Want to hunt down a DVD copy of nacho libre.. Jack black tends to crack me up.. Very much a new belushi.. And I think I saw there is a borat movie out and sacha cohen handles that play it by ear seat of the pants comedy moments that I cant help but laugh at..

But of those 3 2 are more live slapstick etc than 'movies' with a story..

On TV the other night was the life aquatic.. Seen it before on DVD but its just super bizarre... I was laughing all through it but the people I was with were just like WTF.. Whats funny about a 3 legged dog !! Or a guy singing Bowie in portugese.. I guess I have an odd placed funny bone.

Had the same reactions about one of my all time favourite films (Kubricks Dr Strangelove).. To me laughing at cold war insanity (and the superb players in sellers, george c scott, slim pickins, etc) seems natural.. People I show that film to either love it or just wonder why I am laughing.
