I started out spending about 5000 per day (2000 beers/food + 1500 loom + 1500 LT) and was having a great time, but found that gradually it got more expensive every night, as I was having so much fun and would be a good time Charlie buying lady drinks, so that seemed to end up costing another 2 or 3000 baht per day.
Also, I tended to hook up with a bargirls that like to drink and we would go out every night hitting the bars and gogos, so with drinks for two, lady drinks for their friends at the bars you visit (they always seem to know someone), ping pong ball tips in the gogos, tips for the dancers, it starts to add up pretty fast. But, the value you get for the money spent is multiples of what you'd get back home, so well worth it. But if you were looking to have the most fun while saving $$$, I think if you can avoid paying for a full night of drinking for two, and maybe lady drinks for some nice girls at a place where you're a regular you can keep in under control. Or, just barfine the first hottie you see and head back to your room! A few times I didn't barfine some of the more premium girls (ie Dragon dancers) because of the high cost, but compared to what I spent on lady drinks at some places that were taking advantage of me somewhat (not that I cared too much as long as I was having fun), the little extra cost of the premium girls was nothing.
Also, if you are with a girl for a week or more, they generally will be happy with a lower rate per day if you pay them in one lump sum at the end....they seem to be pretty happy getting a lump sum of 10 or 15k, if you paid them every day they would surely spend at least half of it if not all it seems. But then again, you end up taking them on quite a few shopping trips as well!!
