I used to buy my camera's in Singapore all the time. Bought some high-end ones over the years and usually it saved me up to about 40% depending the model.
Nowadays the price differences between Singapore and Holland are less than before.
Rule 1 is to know exactly what you want (brand, type, model no.) and what the average market price is in your home country.
Rule 2 is to be aware of fake cameras or repaired ones. This is sometimes difficult to see. But the chance of this is pretty high in countries like HongKong, Indonesia or Thailand. At least in Singapore, you can be pretty sure you will get a genuine one.
Good shops in SIngapore are Paradise Silk in Holland Village or most of the shops in Funan Shopping mall.
