We used a company called Hogg Robinson if I remember correctly. The guys in Cyprus moving my stuff were supposed to put my washing machine on a pallet then bubble wrap, cardboard and banding. They didn't use the pallet!
The bloke with the forklift at the port in Limassol obviously thought there was a pallet somewhere under the wrapping and aimed his prongs accordingly! It made a lovely rattle as the blokes man-handled the washing machine up the stairs to my new flat in Berlin!
My then missus was impressed with the two slices through the front of the machine.............The 2000 fags I had stashed in the drum survived though! 5555555
