I think firstly it is relevant cost to level of income, the Thai could go to a local Thai hospital and pay what we would consider a pittance to have the cyst removed but then he hasn't got any money, no money no op.
We chose Bangkok Phuket hospital for the birth of our tin lid, best hospital on the island but also the most expensive, majority of patients were Thai and paying the same cost as me, no Thai/Falang differential in the hospital.
However had we chose to have the baby in teelaks village and used her local hospital the cost would have been approximately 20% as much.
