My wife and I are in the same boat as the original poster. We manage to find the cheap way to vacation. I can't imagine that both of us can't get by on $1000 a month spending, not counting our room, which is only going to be 17,000 baht for the month. Eating from the roadside, getting a few massages, doing a few daytrips, and just hangin around the beaches. In the past I've never really kept track of spending, because we always have done timeshare presentations and made most of our spending money that way. Attending a 2 hour timeshare presentation in Mexico pays up to $300 for a married couple. By chance are there any timeshares in Bangkok or Patong???
